Upcoming Installations 2010/2011
Our recently completed research within School of Art Design and Media into digital image making methodologies has opened a novel field of explorations into inventive applications of 3D Stereoscopy as an art digital media expression, which we wish to pursue. The research draws inspiration from the act of playing with the limits of perceptibility, from the fascination of the surreal and abstract art, and from the aesthetics of high-definition, intensely multi-coloured imagery. As digital imaging fuels stereography at every level of image capture, generation and manipulation and display, the need for a fundamental pedagogy and toolset is evident daily.
The results would be artistic explorations of new perceptual, cognitive and interactive digital art ranging from: experimental 3D stereo animated painting to digitally fabricated art works.
Formed as collaboration among faculty from the School of Art, Design and Media, and the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at NTU along with collaborators from local industry, new technology-based art media would to converge seemingly unrelated fields of art aesthetic and science. This would result in new ideas and initiatives in synthetic image technology innovations within academic research environment.

“The works will be structures but not sculptures. They would be painted but not paintings. They would be decorative but not decorations”. (Harrison, No.55, 1977, 39) This project will to create a significant body of art works merging animation, digital painting and sculpture. The works would be exhibited internationally and submitted for numerous juried shows. ADM Gallery, NTU
